A big change you'll spot immediately is the giant 12" touchscreen in the center of the dash. It may seem absurdly large at first, but its functionality will soon win you over. Which engine is the best for me?
If you need to haul a load on the bed or do some serious towing, the 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine with eTorque is the best match for you. Best-in-class V8 towing of 12,750 lbs can handle a boat, travel trailer, or toy hauler with ease. Payload carrying is also a snap with a 2,300lbs max payload. The 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine is another fantastic option, providing the excellent power and capability you've come to expect from a HEMI. If you are looking for something more fuel efficient (and standard on most trim levels) the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine with eTorque is a great choice, although you do sacrifice some power for towing and hauling.
What safety features can I get?
Loads! New for this year is Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path and Trailer Detection. What's so awesome about this feature is it keeps track of your blind spots, with or without a trailer, and you don't even have to set up the trailer measurements manually! The system does it for you automatically. LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning-Plus and Adaptive Cruise Control (with Stop and Go) make long road trips and daily commuting safer and less stressful. Plus, the Ram 1500 has the largest brake pads in its class, bringing you, the truck and your gear to a stop easier and faster. Not used to moving a big truck around?
