A Masterpiece of Power, Luxury, and Innovation

Built to deliver upon the legacy of Ram Trucks, the 2025 Dodge Ram 1500 roars into the market with a redesigned exterior, luxurious interior, bold new powertrain, and cutting-edge technology. This model promises to set new standards for power, comfort, and innovation in the pickup truck segment. Let’s break it down.

Unmatched Power and Performance

The 2025 Ram 1500 is engineered to offer exceptional performance, starting with its two new 3.0L Hurricane engines. These engines deliver Best-in-Class Available Six-Cylinder Horsepower at a stunning 540 HP, ensuring that the Ram 1500 not only meets but exceeds the expectations of power enthusiasts. Whether navigating rugged terrain or towing heavy loads, this powerhouse engine ensures that the Ram 1500 stands out among its competitors.

For those who prefer a balance of power and efficiency, the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine is an excellent choice. This engine provides a maximum payload capacity of up to 2,370 pounds, making it perfect for hauling equipment, materials, or even recreational gear with ease. The Pentastar® V6 ensures that the Ram 1500 is versatile enough to handle a wide range of tasks without compromising performance.

Moreover, the 3.0L Hurricane engine offers a maximum towing capacity of 11,570 pounds, making it ideal for those who require a truck capable of handling substantial towing demands. Whether it’s for work or play, the Ram 1500 is designed to deliver exceptional towing capabilities, ensuring you can bring along everything you need.

Efficiency Meets Strength

Despite its impressive power, the 2025 Ram 1500 is also remarkably fuel-efficient. With a manufacturer-estimated 25 highway miles per gallon, whether equipped with the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine with eTorque or the available 3.0L Hurricane engine, this truck balances performance with practicality. This efficiency ensures that you can go further on each tank, making it an excellent choice for both daily commutes and long road trips.

Built on a 98% steel frame, the Ram 1500 ensures durability and strength from the ground up. This robust construction provides a solid foundation that enhances the truck's overall performance and longevity. Additionally, the available Class-Exclusive Active-Level™ Four Corner Air Suspension System, available on Crew Cab models, automatically lowers the truck at highway speeds to reduce drag and enhance efficiency. This system not only improves fuel efficiency but also contributes to a smoother and more comfortable ride.

Luxury and Comfort Redefined

The 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten model sets new benchmarks for luxury in pickup trucks. This model features a newly redesigned exterior with 22-inch aluminum wheels, a body-color front fascia, and bumpers, making it as stylish as it is functional. The attention to detail in the exterior design ensures that the Tungsten stands out on the road, exuding an air of sophistication and strength.

The interior of the Tungsten model is equally impressive, boasting premium leather seating, real wood and carbon fiber accents, bright metal speakers, a suede headliner, and noise-canceling features. These luxurious touches make the Tungsten the most luxurious Ram 1500 ever, providing an unparalleled level of comfort and elegance. The cabin is designed to be a sanctuary from the outside world, offering a serene and comfortable environment for both driver and passengers.

The Tungsten's interior also offers Best-in-Class available 24-way power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats, complete with heat, ventilation, memory, and all-new massage functionality. These features allow drivers and passengers to customize their seating positions and find the perfect level of comfort for every journey. This display ensures that passengers can stay entertained and informed, enhancing the overall driving experience. Whether you're traveling with family or friends, the Passenger Interactive Display keeps everyone engaged and comfortable.

Featuring a liquid crystal display with a balance of color and contrast, this screen makes it easy to monitor your drive and the road. From navigation directions to vehicle diagnostics, the Driver Information Digital Cluster Display ensures that you have all the information you need right at your fingertips.

Innovative Features for Enhanced Utility

The 2025 Ram 1500 includes numerous features designed to enhance utility and convenience. The available powered tailgate can be controlled via the key fob, a button in the overhead console, or the tailgate handle, making bed access quick and easy. This feature is particularly useful when your hands are full, allowing you to open and close the tailgate with minimal effort.

Two available 110-volt power outlets allow charging even when the truck is off, and an available maximum 2-kilowatt inverter provides backup power for emergencies. Whether you're powering tools at a job site, charging devices on a camping trip, or providing power during a blackout, the Ram 1500 has you covered. This level of versatility ensures that the truck is ready for any situation, making it an invaluable asset for both work and play.

Advanced Safety and Driver Assistance

Safety is a top priority with Dodge vehicles, and especially for the 2025 Ram 1500, which boasts the Most Available Towing Technology Features Ever Offered on a Ram 1500. With over 100 standard and available safety and security features, this truck is designed to keep you and your passengers safe on the road. New technologies include Trailer Auto Hitch Assist, which aligns the vehicle with the trailer tongue, and Trailer Reverse Guidance with Dynamic Gridlines, which aids in reversing with a trailer. These features make towing easier and safer, ensuring that you can hitch up and hit the road with confidence.

For longer hauls, the available Hands-Free Active Driving Assist helps maintain speed and distance from vehicles ahead and keeps the truck centered within lanes on approved roadways. This innovative system uses sensors, cameras, and radar to assist with steering, acceleration, and braking, reducing driver fatigue and enhancing safety. Advanced sensors and cameras also make parking and maneuvering easier, and an available evasive lane change assist system helps avoid potential collisions. Whether you're navigating through busy city streets or cruising on the highway, the Ram 1500's safety features provide peace of mind.

Stylish and Functional Lighting

Lighting plays a crucial role in both safety and style, and the 2025 Ram 1500 does not disappoint. The redesigned LED headlamps, available LED taillamps, and fog lamps, along with signature daytime running lamps, ensure that the Ram 1500 is both stylish and functional. These advanced lighting systems provide excellent visibility in all conditions, making nighttime driving safer and more enjoyable.

The available customizable LED walk-up animation and exterior light carpet welcome drivers and passengers with a touch of elegance and practicality. This feature not only enhances the truck's visual appeal but also provides added convenience, illuminating the path to the vehicle and making entry and exit easier.

The Return of the Hemi

Stellantis Executives are Giving the People What They Want For the last few years there has been much debate over the loss of the popular Hemi engine, the Hurricane engine filling in as its replacement, and of course, the electric vehicles that were not too popular with Dodge fans and have since been discontinued. Luckily, Tim Kuniskis came out of retirement in December 2024 to resume his role as CEO of Ram Trucks —a strategic move in part to address the Hemi V-8 controversy. But what does the future of these vehicles hold? Is the V-8 making a full blown comeback into the trucks and muscle cars? Are the EVs actually dead? The Jeff D'Ambrosio team is going to check it out. The Hurricane Engine The Stellantis Hurricane GME-T6 is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six first introduced in premium Jeep models and has now made its way into Ram and Dodge vehicles. Built with advanced engineering, it features a deep-skirt aluminum block, forged internals, twin low-inertia turbos, plasma-spray bore coating, high-pressure direct injection, and a dedicated charge-cooler circuit. It delivers up to 15 % better fuel efficiency than older, larger engines while still producing impressive performance. In the 2025 Ram 1500, the Hurricane comes in two configurations: Standard Output (SO): ~420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque High Output (HO): ~540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque What Is the Hemi V-8? The Hemi V-8 is one of the most famous American engines ever built, loved for its hemispherical combustion chamber design, classic muscle-car rumble, and raw performance. Unfortunately, it was discontinued for a short amount of time and its fans did not enjoy it! The Hemi lineup will include: 5.7 L Hemi: ~395 horsepower, 410 lb-ft of torque 6.4 L “Apache”/392: ~475 horsepower, 470 lb-ft of torque Supercharged 6.2 L Hellcat: ~700+ horsepower, ~650 lb-ft of torque Production of these engines will resume in August 2025, making them available in select 2026 Dodge and Ram models. Head-to-Head Engine Comparison Spec Hurricane SO (3.0 L I6) Hurricane HO (3.0 L I6) Hemi 5.7 L V-8 Hemi 6.4 L / Hellcat Horsepower ~420 ~540 ~395 ~475 / ~700+ Torque ~469 lb-ft ~521 lb-ft ~410 lb-ft ~470 / ~650 Fuel Economy (Highway) ~25 MPG ~21 MPG ~23 MPG Lower Towing Capacity (Ram 1500) ~11,550 lb ~10,740 lb ~12,750 lb Likely higher Engine Layout Inline-6, twin-turbo Inline-6, twin-turbo Naturally aspirated V-8 Naturally aspirated / Supercharged V-8 Driving Feel Smooth, modern, efficient Explosive, refined Classic muscle rumble Extreme performance & sound Key Takeaways: Even the base Hurricane surpasses the 5.7 L Hemi in both horsepower and torque. The High Output Hurricane nearly matches or exceeds the naturally aspirated 6.4 L Hemi while providing better fuel efficiency. The Hemi still edges out slightly in towing capacity and delivers that unmistakable V-8 sound that many enthusiasts prefer. The Return of the Hemi After initially planning to phase out the Hemi, Stellantis reversed course due to overwhelming customer demand. The Hemi V-8 will return for the 2026 Ram 1500, expected to account for 25–40 % of sales. The decision comes after record pre-orders—over 10,000 Ram 1500 trucks with the 5.7 L Hemi were reserved within the first 24 hours of announcement. The engine will also be featured in the 2026 Dodge Durango, which will now be V-8 only, offering the 5.7 L in the GT trim, the 6.4 L in the R/T, and the supercharged Hellcat V-8 in the SRT Hellcat model with Jailbreak personalization options. The Ram TRX is also anticipated to return, likely retaining the Hellcat’s supercharged V-8 instead of the Ram RHO with 6 cylinders; we hope to see it in the near future. Dodge has hinted that the Charger SixPack’s STLA Large platform could potentially accommodate a V-8 in the future. Dodge’s EV Charger Ambition and Setback Dodge introduced the all-electric Charger Daytona with bold claims, including the “Banshee” EV powertrain and Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust sound system to simulate muscle-car audio. The goal was to merge EV efficiency with Dodge’s performance DNA. However, sales were disappointing, with the Charger Daytona moving only a fraction of the units compared to previous gas-powered Charger sales. Consumer feedback showed that while the technology was interesting, many muscle-car buyers still wanted the sound, feel, and experience of a real combustion engine. In response, Dodge fast-tracked the gas-powered Charger SixPack, powered by the Hurricane I-6, to meet customer demand. Wrap Up Dodge and Ram are now offering the best of both worlds: Hurricane I-6 for those who want cutting-edge technology, excellent efficiency, and modern performance. Hemi V-8 for drivers who value tradition, sound, and raw muscle. The EV Charger may have stumbled, but the revival of the Hemi shows that Dodge understands its core audience—those who still want the roar of a real engine under the hood. Jeep Gladiator vs. Ram 1500

Which of these trucks rules the road? When comparing the Jeep Gladiator and the Dodge Ram 1500, you’re looking at two iconic trucks that cater to different needs, but each offers its own unique blend of power, versatility, and capability. Whether you need a rugged off-road companion or a reliable workhorse for everyday tasks, let’s break down how these two vehicles stack up against each other. Performance and Power Jeep Gladiator: The Gladiator comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine producing 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine offers a great balance of power and efficiency, and there's also an available 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 option that delivers 260 horsepower and an impressive 442 lb-ft of torque. The Gladiator shines in off-road capability, thanks to its Jeep heritage, featuring 4x4 capabilities across all trims. Dodge Ram 1500: The Ram 1500 offers multiple powertrains, starting with a 3.6-liter V6 eTorque engine, producing 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. For those who crave more power, there’s the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with or without eTorque, offering 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The Ram 1500's top-tier option is the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 in the TRX model, pumping out an astounding 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the most powerful trucks on the market. Verdict: The Gladiator offers capable engine options, especially for off-road enthusiasts, but the Ram 1500 wins in terms of sheer power and towing capabilities, particularly with its V8 options. Towing and Payload Capacity Jeep Gladiator: The Gladiator boasts a maximum towing capacity of 7,650 pounds when properly equipped, which is impressive for its class. Its payload capacity is also solid, handling up to 1,700 pounds. Dodge Ram 1500: The Ram 1500 takes the lead with a maximum towing capacity of up to 12,750 pounds and a payload capacity of around 2,300 pounds when equipped with the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 and eTorque system. Verdict: If towing heavy loads is a priority, the Ram 1500 outperforms the Gladiator. However, the Gladiator still offers respectable towing and payload capabilities for most tasks. Off-Road Capability Jeep Gladiator: True to the Jeep name, the Gladiator excels in off-road performance. With features like the Rock-Trac 4x4 system, front and rear locking differentials, a disconnecting front sway bar, and skid plates, the Gladiator Rubicon trim, in particular, is ready for any terrain. Dodge Ram 1500: The Ram 1500 also offers off-road capabilities, especially with the Rebel and TRX trims. The Rebel includes features like an off-road suspension, skid plates, and an electronic locking rear axle, while the TRX adds more power and advanced off-road systems. Verdict: While the Ram 1500 has capable off-road trims, the Jeep Gladiator is the clear winner for off-road enthusiasts, delivering the kind of trail-ready performance Jeep is known for. Interior Comfort and Technology Jeep Gladiator: The Gladiator offers a comfortable and functional interior, with features like the Uconnect infotainment system, available leather-trimmed seats, and modern tech like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, its interior leans more towards ruggedness than luxury. Dodge Ram 1500: The Ram 1500 stands out for its upscale interior, especially in higher trims. You can find premium materials, an available 12-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced tech features. The Ram 1500 is widely recognized as having one of the most luxurious interiors in its class. Verdict: The Ram 1500 takes the edge in interior comfort and technology, making it a more refined choice for daily driving and long road trips. Price and Value Jeep Gladiator: The base model of the Gladiator starts at a slightly lower price point, making it a more affordable entry into the truck segment. However, higher trims and options can increase the price significantly, especially for off-road-focused models like the Rubicon. Dodge Ram 1500: The Ram 1500 starts at a competitive price but quickly becomes more expensive as you add options and higher trims, especially with the more powerful engine choices and luxury features. Verdict: The Gladiator offers great value for those looking for a capable off-road truck, while the Ram 1500 is worth the investment for its comfort, power, and advanced features. Final Thoughts Choose the Jeep Gladiator if you prioritize off-road capability, open-air driving, and a unique blend of truck and Jeep styling. Opt for the Dodge Ram 1500 if you need more towing capacity, engine options, interior comfort, and a truck that can handle both work and leisure with ease. In the end, the choice between the Jeep Gladiator and the Dodge Ram 1500 will depend on your specific needs and preferences. The Gladiator excels as an adventurous off-roader, while the Ram 1500 stands out as a versatile powerhouse with impressive luxury features.
