The Pacifica's interior offers an expansive, well-lit environment brimming with storage spaces, cupholders, slide-out bins, and an array of connectivity options - the key features that charm minivan enthusiasts. While the overall quality of materials and assembly are commendable, some inexpensive plastic components can be found within the cabin. The elevated Limited and Pinnacle variants flaunt center consoles that mesh smoothly with the dashboard, imparting an SUV-esque feel from the driver's seat.

The opulent Pinnacle model is adorned with quilted-leather upholstery and even includes matching lumbar pillows for the second-row captain's chairs, a feature reminiscent of the ultra-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach S-class. The Pacifica's hallmark Stow 'n Go seats may provide less cushioning due to their need to fold into the floor of the van. However, the Pacifica Hybrid compensates for this by offering additional padding on its standard captain's chairs, due to the space taken up by the battery pack.

For cargo space, the Pacifica excels. Our tests showed an impressive capacity of up to 53 carry-on suitcases with the second- and third-row seats stowed away. An optional built-in vacuum cleaner is available, although this does take up space that could otherwise house an optional mini-spare tire.

Infotainment and Connectivity

At the heart of the Pacifica's entertainment is Chrysler's Uconnect 5 infotainment system, presented on a sleek 10.1-inch touchscreen nestled between climate-control vents. The Uconnect 5 offers a customizable home screen, integration with Amazon Alexa, and wireless connection for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An onboard Wi-Fi hotspot enhances connectivity.

An optional rear-seat entertainment system offers dual touchscreens to entertain younger passengers and can be equipped with Amazon Fire TV for access to a plethora of movies and TV shows via built-in streaming apps. The Pacifica provides up to 12 USB ports, including USB-C types for rapid charging of smart devices.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

The Pacifica earns high marks in safety by offering a comprehensive suite of modern driver-assistance features. Preformance Overview

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

While not the speediest of minivans, the front-wheel-drive Pacifica is anything but lethargic. It clocks 60 mph in 7.3 seconds, placing it squarely in the middle of the pack for performance, and boasts plenty of gusto for urban driving. The gas-only Pacifica is equipped with a 287-hp 3.6-liter V-6 engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Pacifica Hybrid produces a slightly lower total of 260 horsepower from its 3.6-liter V-6 and dual electric motors, powered by a 16.0-kWh lithium-ion battery. During our tests, we found the Hybrid model took an additional 0.5 second to reach 60 mph compared to its more muscular sibling.

Towing and Payload Capacity

The Chrysler Pacifica has a maximum towing limit of 3600 pounds. However, Chrysler advises against using the Pacifica Hybrid for towing.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

Besides offering roomy interiors, a minivan should also be fuel efficient. The Pacifica Limited we tested delivered an outstanding 31 mpg on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy test. The EPA estimates that the Pacifica Hybrid can cover up to 33 miles on electric power alone and has a combined rating of 84 MPGe. In city driving, we were able to match the EPA's 33-mile range. Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)

Plug-in hybrid vehicles deliver a dual advantage. They function just like Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), with the added perk of enabling you to plug in and operate purely on electricity. This capability offers you the versatility to traverse short distances emission-free on battery power, whilst reserving the option for longer trips with a fuel-efficient hybrid engine. A fully charged PHEV can typically cover between 20 to 50 miles before transitioning to a gas-powered hybrid powertrain, all the while offering better fuel economy and range than conventional gas vehicles.

The 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid minivan boasts a highly competitive EPA estimated 32-mile all-electric range. This allows you to manage daily tasks such as school runs without shelling out on gas. As more and more charging points emerge in public parking areas, it's becoming increasingly feasible for Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid drivers to rely solely on battery power for their local errands. On extended journeys, beginning with a full battery and gas tank, the Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid can achieve an EPA estimated total combined range of over 500 miles.
