2020 Dodge Charger
2020 Dodge Charger
If you compare last year's Charger trim lineup to this years, you might notice several trim levels missing. If you feel like you're missing a few friends-namely the SXT Plus, SXT Plus - Leather, GT Plus, Daytona, Daytona 392, and SRT 392-don't worry. Those trims are preserved in the simplified lineup. Just check the boxes you want and you can get what amounts to almost the exact same Charger. In this preview guide, we'll navigate the changes to the 2020 Dodge Charger and show you how what you love is still there.
What's New for 2020?
As we previously said, the number of trim levels have been cut in half. What remains is the SXT, SXT AWD, GT, R/T, and SRT. But if you miss the SXT Plus - Leather trim, just get the base SXT trim and check more boxes at the dealership, making sure to include leather seating. And there you go, your very own 2020 SXT that looks an awful lot like a 2018 SXT Plus - Leather. Dodge has simply trimmed the fat so the options won't feel like paralyzing decisions with an overwhelming number of options. Besides that, there have been a few styling tweaks inside or out, but nothing game-changing. The changes for 2018 have carried over to 2020, including standard features like rearview camera, rear parking sensors, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone integration.
No One Is an Island
Now there's no reason to drive alone. Like any good pony car, the Dodge Charger is big enough for you and a few friends. Even five adults is not too much of a squeeze in the Charger. This Dodge's width makes for wide seats. And there's as much leg room as you would find in a midsize or large sedan. So, go ahead, call your friends. Tell them you just bought a Charger and there's enough room for everyone to sit comfortably. They'll come running.
Giddyup and Go
Maybe it goes without saying, but pony cars can really move. The Charger is no exception. With everything from a 292-horsepower V6 to a 707-horsepower V8, every Charger knows how to move. This Dodge explodes out of the gate and can go up to 200 mph. The best Charger can get to 60 mph from a dead stop in just 3.8 seconds. You probably won't be disappointed with the V6, but getting the V8 is like being reborn.
With a Hefty Helping of Tech
The fun isn't confined to the gas pedal. If you're interested in tech offerings in your pony car, the Charger delivers. In addition to the powerful V6 engine, eight-speed automatic transmission, and rear-wheel drive, the Charger offers plenty of standard tech. The list includes power-adjustable front seats, rearview camera, rear parking sensors, push-button start, and Uconnect infotainment system with voice recognition, four USB ports, six-speaker audio system, satellite radio, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and 7-inch touch screen. From there things just get better, with upgraded speakers, larger touch screens, heated steering wheel, and gads of active safety features.
With plenty of tech, speed at your fingertips, and room for five, the Charger thrives in the fast lane. Ride off into the sunset.
