<p>RAM offers the 1500 with three different cab styles, two different bed lengths, and 11 different trims. The trims start off with the base level Tradesman, which is a basic work truck, and moves up from there. You can get the Express, Big Horn/Lone Star, the Sport, Night, Harvest, Lone Star Silver, Laramie, Rebel, Laramie Longhorn, and the Limited along with the Limited Tungsten special edition.</p><p>Both the Sport and Night models have 20-inch wheels and projector headlights, while the new Harvest model has extra ground clearance, black side steps, and tow hooks. There is also the off-road themed Rebel model, which has black fender flairs, tow hooks, and LED fog lights.</p>
Engine (Power)
There are several engines to choose from for the RAM 1500 depending on the trim. The base is a 3.6-liter V-6 that generates 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. The Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, and the Limited come with a 5.7-liter V-8 that produces 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. A diesel V-8 will also come later in the year, which will deliver 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
<p>The light-duty RAM 1500 with the V-8 will tow up to 10,620 pounds when equipped, while the Eco diesel will tow up to 9,000 pounds. The diesel engine is the best performer when it comes to fuel efficiency and will return 19 miles per gallon in the city and 27 mpg on the highway with the four-wheel drive. Choose the rear-wheel drive, and it will get 20 miles per gallon in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.</p><p>The gas-powered V-8 delivers a smooth ride much like a luxury car, but press down on the accelerator, and it turns into a powerful machine and includes the low growl to let everyone know you are coming.</p>
Interior
<p>The cabin is spacious and comfortable with room for up to six passengers in the Quad Cab. The new luxury Limited Tungsten model has Frost and Indigo leather seats, while the other high-level trims have premium leather and a leather-wrapped, heated steering wheel. You can also get an 8.4-inch touch-screen display with the Uconnect infotainment system, which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, and a 10-speaker stereo system.</p> <p>The rear seat of the RAM 1500 folds into a flat floor surface with space for taller items you may need to keep in the cabin and out of the weather.</p>
Safety Features
All the RAM 1500 models now come standard with a rearview camera and six air bags. You can opt for both front and rear parking sensors on the lower trims, and these come standard on the higher trims.
